About the Event

This ride will take us to Fort Frederick State Park which is located in Western  Maryland near the town of Big Pool.  Fort Frederick State Park is a unique stone fort  that served as Maryland’s frontier defense during the French and Indian War. Built  in 1756, the fort's stone wall and two barracks have been restored to their 1758  appearance. Historic exhibits are in the fort, barracks, museum and visitor center.  On  the weekends staff and volunteers dress in period clothing and occupy the fort,  demonstrating daily life in the 18th century.

This ride will be a Bring Your Own Sandwich (BYOS) or picnic ride. We will stop at a  market on the way for those who forget to bring a sandwich. We will make at least one rest stop on the way up and of course one on the way back as well.  Please  arrive by 9:00 a.m. in order to complete the requisite paperwork and receive the  ride briefing so that we can depart on time at 9:30 am. Please remember to arrive  gassed up and ready to go.
