About the Event

Let’s plan to meet at District Harley-Davidson at 8:30 a.m. with KSUs at 9:00 am. on

Saturday, October 2nd. The Indian Steps Museum is located along the banks of the

Susquehanna river on which it got its name. Before the Susquehanna was dammed, this

location marked the fall line of the river and hence had many rocks jutting out from the

bank. Historically Indians fished and mapped flint on these rocks also called steps. In the

late 1800s a rich lawyer bought the land and in conjunction with the artifacts found onsite

plus his own Indian artifact collection, he built a cabin and had the artifacts embedded

into the walls of the cabin and established the Indian Steps Museum. Today the museum

and grounds are owned by York County Pa. Because the Indian Steps Museum is not

located near any restaurants, please plan on bringing your own sandwiches and drinks so

we can eat lunch there picnic style. We will stop on the way there so that if you don’t

bring a sandwich, you can always buy one. Hope everyone can make it. Please arrive on

time, gassed up and ready to go.
